Front of House Lead Host or Hostess

We are looking for an enthusiastic Front of House host or hostess who knows good food and loves getting to know new people to provide a remarkable guest experience.

What You’ll Be Doing in This Role
The front of house lead host or hostess is responsible for greeting our guests, taking food orders, making our house tea, lemonade, and coffee daily, tracking packaging and specialty food inventory, plus receiving, labeling, and stocking inventory.

We focus on high quality ingredients with your dietary needs in mind for lunch-to-go, market-to-table prepared foods, catering, and special events with pick-up or delivery.

What Does The Position Pay?
$10 - $12/ hour; Starting pay will vary depending on prior experience and skills, and other factors. We are happy to discuss this with you in person to determine a wage that works for both of us.

What Are the Hours?
We are currently looking to fill the shift time of 9am - 2pm Monday through Friday with some Saturdays and holidays expected. Additional hours available for catering and special events.

What Are the Physical Requirements?

  • Must be able to move up to 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and stand for long periods of time.

What Are the Performance Expectations?

  • Works well with kitchen staff to ensure all guests have a remarkable experience.

  • Takes ownership and responsibility for directing positive energy towards a remarkable sales and service experience.

  • Knows regulars by name and remembers their preferences. 

  • Ensures shift checklists are completed 

  • Arrive on time for all shifts, meetings, and events.

  • Ensure all sales meet quality and presentation standards. 

  • Maintain a tidy, clean, and sanitary front of house work area. 

  • Effectively communicates and maintains excellent relationships with all staff at NPC.

  • Complete training within the agreed upon timeframe and continue to live the NPC Guiding Principles. 

  • Follow daily procedural checklists.

  • Restock coolers and specialty food shelves as needed. 

  • Track food packaging and specialty food inventory. 

Other Functions?

  • Attends weekly meetings and tastings

  • Participate in other events, catering, and projects as needed.

What Are Success Patterns for this Position?

  • Has worked effectively as part of a team. Experience in sales, hospitality, marketing, or similar position is a plus. 

  • Knows how to keep the workplace fun and lighthearted even when we are busy.

  •  Has a reputation of excellent relationships with front and back of house staff.

  • Has a reputation for maintaining a safe and clean work area.

  • Must be able to work weekends and after hours as needed. 

  • Be punctual 

  • Follow all kitchen safety and sanitary requirements.

  • Love to provide great service. 

  • Have a passion for great food – making, tasting, talking, and selling it!
